Trade Magazine Annual Subscription
twelve issues to the office address, invoiced annually on account so it does not go on somebody's personal card
Office equipment is sold on headline numbers that almost nobody can use. A printer quoted at 40 pages a minute is quoting a single sided black page from a warm machine, and the cost that matters is pence per page over five years rather than the price on the box. Every listing here states the real running cost, the monthly duty cycle the machine is actually built for, what the consumables cost and how long they last. Where a cheaper machine would do the job we say so, because the money in this trade is in the consumables and we would rather you knew that from us than worked it out in year two.
Specification
- Use: a reference shelf, a reception area or a training budget
- Specification: the everyday specification, which covers most offices and is what we would put on a quote unless you told us otherwise
- Capacity: titles listed in full on the product page before you buy, because a book package with a vague description is somebody clearing stock
- Consumables: not applicable
- Connectivity: not applicable
- Running cost: subscriptions are invoiced annually on account with a reminder before renewal rather than a silent automatic charge
- Sustainability: FSC printed where the publisher certifies it, and we will take old magazines back for recycling on a standing subscription. We state the actual certification rather than the word sustainable. For paper that means FSC or PEFC with the chain of custody number on the wrapper. For recycled content it means the percentage. Anything described only as eco friendly is described that way because there is nothing to certify.
- Delivery: next working day on stocked titles, and subscriptions start with the next published issue
- Weight: approximately 2.40 kilograms
- Warranty: not applicable to a book, but we will exchange anything damaged in transit
- Titles listed in full before you buy
- Renewal: we remind you rather than renewing silently
- Account: invoiced on account, which is what makes a training budget usable
What arrives
- the titles as described, or the subscription confirmation
- an invoice suitable for a training budget
- a reading list where the package includes one
Setting it up
None.
Which one to buy
Buy the reference titles in print and the rest digitally. Regulations, codes of practice and anything an inspector might ask to see are still worth having on a shelf, and almost everything else is read once. On subscriptions, ask for the renewal reminder rather than automatic renewal, because a silent renewal on a card nobody remembers is how offices end up with four copies of the same magazine.
